Customer Setup

This section explains how as a WalkTab Reseller, you and your staff can set up WalkTab for your customers and provision customer devices with the WalkTab app.

Step 1

Please ensure that all customers for a database receive the email that was sent to you after adding their database. Note that you will have to copy, paste and bcc this email to each end-user.

Step 2

If your customers have either iPhones or iPads OR Android devices with permission to download and install apps, they can do so from the App Store or Playstore respectively. Here they can search ‘WalkTab’, download and install the WalkTab app directly.

Step 3

The “App Setup” link on the email will set off an intent; WalkTab will open, and the setup fields will be populated with the details corresponding to the Customers’ database. If this doesn’t occur, the Customer may have to manually fill in the Account id, Database, and the Registration Password and fill in the name as per the email they have previously received from you.

Press SETUP once all the fields are filled in.

Step 4

If the customer is registering their devices for the first time, they will press the ‘PROVISION NEW DEVICE’ button. If they are reloading WalkTab, they must enter their existing serial number before pressing the ‘PROVISION NEW DEVICE’ to proceed.

With the assigned serial number confirmed, the device is live and appears in MyGeotab. It is now possible for the customer to press the SHOW STATUS Button and see the default operational WalkTab screen.
